PICNIC IN THE CAR

PICNICEarlier today, I had to stop by Publix to get some prescriptions.  Since it would be 45 minutes before they would be ready and I had not yet had anything to eat, I decided to go to the deli.  I purchased a container of bowtie feta pasta salad with black olives, tomatoes, scallions, and oil and vinaigrette dressing, seasoned potato wedges, fried chicken tenders, and a bottle of cold mango lemonade.

By the time I made it to my car, my taste buds were set.  The weather was gorgeous at the time, not  too warm with cool, gentle breezes.  So I thought, I’ll just eat in the car.  By the time I’m done, my prescriptions will be ready.  I let down all of my windows.  As I enjoyed my food (which, by the way, was delicious), I finished listening to John Legend’s LOVE IN THE FUTURE music CD.

As I sat there stuffing my face and listening to the lyrics and John’s sweet, mellow-sounding voice, I was thoroughly enjoying myself until a yellow jacket decided to fly through one of the windows.  Then I spent about 30 minutes–just kidding–it was only about five, but it felt like more–trying to get the little booger out of my car.  After finally finding and getting rid of it, I got back in my car, started the engine, turn on the AC, and let up all the windows :).  Then I ate some more until I was not stuffed but satisfied–just in time to go back inside the store for my prescriptions.

So except for my fight with a yellow jacket in my car and a few aches and pains, today was a pretty good day!  How was your day?  I hope it was awesome!  Did you do anything in particular that made it great?

Well, good night, and have an even more awesome rest of the weekend!  HAPPY READING!  And as always, this is from my heart to yours.

  1. Eating in the car while parked often sets the stage for an adventure with a flying or creepy crawling critter. Glad I was able to get out and get some air today too. It was a pretty day. I enjoyed having the cool breeze flow through the car as we drove through the neighborhood.
