  1. I have nominated you for the ”One Lovely Blog” award. If you want to participate and accept the award you can check out your official nomination and learn how to accept it at http://writeoutofthedarkness.wordpress.com/2014/10/06/and-the-nominees-are-drumroll-please/
    Happy Monday! 🙂

    • WOW, Terri! Thank you! What a pleasant surprise! Was not expecting this! Okay, I’m in the process of accepting my nomination. One question though–how will the judges know who I’ve nominated? I’ve been researching and can’t find an answer. Just curious because I want to make sure my nominations get taken into account. 🙂

      • This is an virtual award that was started by bloggers to give recognition to blogs that are simply lovely and to assist bloggers who share their story or thoughts in a beautiful manner to connect with viewers and followers. The award works kind of like grace in that you only have to accept it to be a winner. 😉

When you nominate 15 other blogs they each become a winner by accepting your nomination and nominating 15 more bloggers, and so on and so on, creating a network of amazing and interesting people who have worked really hard or made a big impact. (And, 15 is simply the number passed on and on and on. No one is actually counting. You can nominate 4 or 24 and no one would take away your award. This award is purely peer recognition of a job well-done. And, sometimes that is the best kind of award. ❤ ) I did have a few bloggers refuse the award for a variety of reasons and that's okay. Unlike grace, you aren't damned if you refuse it. I nominated people for the award to recognize their work. They are still recognized and know I love what they do even if they don't pass it on.

Anyway, when you follow the directions for acceptance:
        1. Thank the person who nominated you for the award on your blog (because then my followers will know I think your blog is lovely and will hopefully visit you to see what you are doing, passing on the lovliness)
        2. Add the One Lovely Blog logo to your post. (Because you earned it and it helps people looking for lovely blogs find you.)
        3. Share 7 facts/or things about yourself (to give your visitors a snapshot of who you are. It's a chance to connect with them and to encourage them to become a follower, not just a viewer.)
        4. Nominate 15 bloggers (or however many you wish to honor) you admire and inform the nominees by commenting on their blog. (This may bring their followers to your blog, too but, it also gives you a chance to recognize and honor- ie you're the judge! – blogs and bloggers that you have found to be helpful, interesting, well-done, beautiful, applicable, generally lovely. ❤

        Make sense?

I look forward to seeing which blogs you find most helpful / most admire!

  2. Yes, it totally makes sense, and you explained it so well. I did not see anything during my research that explains it this well. Now, if someone asks me, I can share it with them. Thank you, and thanks again for the nomination! 🙂
