THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY

100_0735The Blue Ridge Parkway, built to connect Shenandoah National Park to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is noted for its scenic beauty.  This past weekend, my husband Tony and I got to experience it firsthand.

Sunday morning started out foggy as we made our way toward the Parkway, but the sun was soon bursting down brilliantly on us in the thirty-something-degree temperature.  As Tony maneuvered our vehicle over the ever-winding road, we were amazed at the beautiful, majestic scenes of well-crafted works of art that lay out before us.

In the distance, we could see what appeared to be sparkles of ice crystals shimmering from some of the colossal evergreens.  Further up throughout the100_0734 mountains, other trees adorned a powdery white-looking substance.  Every now and then, we would pull onto the overlooks to take pictures as we admired the landscape with awe and reverence.  All I could think was, How can anyone partake of all this awesomeness and say there is no God?  (Psalm 83:18)

So please allow me to share with you a few of the pictures we took during our exciting and unforgettable excursion that turned out to be a very, very lovely day thanks to the One who created it all  :).

Take care.  And as always, this is from my heart to yours.

Maxine
