Several years ago, while my husband and I were on our way to Cherokee, NC, we stopped at Clingmans Dome. Once we made it up the extremely steep, paved, half-mile trail, we began making our way up to the 54-foot observation tower. I was nearly dead by the time we got to the top, but the magnificent views made the agony of it well worth the effort. When we went back to Tennessee the following year, we took our son, and we did it all over again with him. Needless to say, we haven’t been back since, but it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
From my heart to yours,
