FILL ‘ER UP

My birds are really loving their seed! This morning when I got up, the feeder was empty, and I had to fill ‘er up. I love to use these little, round cakes of seed. I purchase mine at Walmart, well, because Walmart’s my store. 🙂 That’s where I got my feeder from, too. Anyway, each cake comes with a hole already in it, so all I have to do is unwrap them and load them onto the feeder. Cool, huh? 🙂

My cute, little tufted titmouse has become one of my best friends. It comes everyday to eat from the feeder and will even stick around long enough for me to take several photographs of it.

On the other hand, the beautiful, brilliant red cardinal that also comes by everyday to feed is like a speeding bullet and a streak of lightning. As soon as I try to steal some pictures, it takes off! But I’m determined not to give up in my quest, and when I do, I’ll be sure to share my treasures here and in some of my online stores.

As always, this is from my heart to yours !

EXPRESSIONS OF ART

ART (PLANT 2)And out of the ground made the LORD GOD to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight.

(Genesis 2:9)

Art comes in various forms, and what may be considered art to some may not to others.  Oxford Dictionaries defines art as “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”  Isn’t it true that when we see the representation of different expressions of art, emotional reactions and responses are evoked within us?

It’s interesting to me that human life did not begin in a barren field but in a garden with trees not only good for food but also “pleasant to the sight.”  Therefore, from the start, man was made to appreciate the various forms of artistry, beauty, and design so evident around us.

As always, this is from my heart to yours,

Maxine 🙂

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

Most of us have probably heard this saying quoted above, but what exactly does it mean?  What do you think?

Each of us is an individual who sees things differently.  Therefore, what may appeal to one person may not to another.  Likewise, what one individual may see in something may not be seen by another.

For example, these little, orange and yellow beauties, to me, resemble tiny bells.  Held upright, the delicate petals of orange, coral, and yellow take on a more regal appearance in my eyes, a star-shaped one.

Then there are these tiny, lavender and white blooms that look like partially-closed umbrellas with a decorative touch around the edge with the faint, white, scalloped trim.FLWRS (PURP)

And lastly, these cute, little whatever they are.  Although they don’t remind me of anything in particular yet, I am still fascinated by their appearance.  It seems nowadays that I try to find art in everything :).  But again, to me, every bit of creation, from the smallest to the greatest, just shows how awesome our Creator is.  (Psalm 86:8)

FLWRS (STARS)

So what do you think?  What do these tiny flecks of natural creation look like to you?  And what do you think the saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” means?

Good-night.

From my heart to yours,

Maxine
