HOLLYWOOD WAX MUSEUM (PIGEON FORGE, TN)

HOLLYWOOD WAX MUS 3A couple of months ago when my husband, our son, and I went to Pigeon Forge, we visited the Hollywood Wax Museum and thoroughly enjoyed it.  We never spend a lot of money when we vacation there.  Nearly everything we do is usually free, but we do always pay to attend one major attraction, which all three of us must agree upon–that way, the experience is fun for all of us.

At the end of this post, you’ll see pictures I took of some of the best wax figures there (in my opinion.)  I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.  Oh, the one of me posing with the Men in Black, I was initially not going to share because I was too embarrassed.  However, a crazy friend of mine who will remain nameless — she knows who she is 🙂 — suggested that I expose it.

Well, that’s it for today.  As always, this is from my heart to yours!

Maxine 🙂

MOUNTAIN SICKNESS

MOUNTAINS 2

“Let the mountains shout joyfully together.”

(Psalm 98:8)

I am a country girl, pure and simple, and I love, love, love the mountains!  They are truly a testament to the power and creativity of our awesome Creator and bring shouts of praise, honor, and glory to His holy name!  This past weekend, my husband, our son, and I took our annual family vacation to our favorite location, the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina.  Last year, my husband and I drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway for the first time, and we were in such awe that we wanted our son to also experience it firsthand.  The trip going was fabulous, but as we made our way back to Pigeon Forge along the Parkway, our son suddenly became very ill (nauseated and sick to his stomach.)  He attributed it to the high altitude.

Well, in writing this post, I came across some articles on acute mountain sickness and decided to research the subject a little further.  While I love the awe-inspiring scenery found in the gargantuan mountain ranges and seem to get sick when I can’t be in their presence, acute mountain sickness is a real condition that a lot of people suffer from.  However, it is possible to enjoy the beauty of these magnificent masses of creation if we travel with care as an article in today’s New York Times points out.

With that said, please enjoy some of my photos that I took during our recent family vacation.

As always, this is from my heart to yours!

Maxine 🙂
