I feel so very blessed to have a family who dearly loves me!!! Two of my greatest gifts from God are my children, daughter Natasha and son Stefan. It is not uncommon for them to just come home with something they’ve surprisingly gotten for me. Recently, my daughter gave me a Coach handbag and matching wallet.

Today, my son surprised me with the “Hidden Figures” DVD and book!!! I didn’t even know there was a book! Can’t wait to read it!

I’m not sharing this post to brag about what little I have materially but because I am so thankful for my family and their gifts from the heart. Even if they are something some may consider small (washing the dishes, running errands for me, asking about my day, etc.), I greatly appreciate and cherish it all.

And as always, this is from my heart ❤ to yours ❤ !

ME & KAYLA“Become kind to one another.”   (Eph. 4:32)

Meet Kayla!  I met this sweet, young lady today during my walk at the park.  As we were approaching each other, she handed me the tiny, white flower that’s in my hair.  With a smile, she said, “Here.  Take this.”  As I accepted it, I returned her smile and gratefully expressed, “Thank you.  How sweet!  I really appreciate it.”  Then we continued walking in opposite directions.  As we came upon one another again, she said of my flower she’d given me that I had placed in my hair, “It looks good.”

I asked her if she would take a picture with me so I can put it on Facebook and let everyone know about this sweet, young lady I met today who gave me a flower.  I asked her name and told her mine.  Then the other sweet, young lady she was with took our picture.  Again, we went our separate ways and continued our walk.

What Kayla did today simply made my day!  There we were–didn’t know each other–and she extended a gesture of kindness to me–something I was not expecting–out of the blue.  Since we live in a world where people are not always kind, her random act of kindness truly touched my heart.  And especially touching was the fact that someone so young reached out to me, an older person, also one of a different race.  I don’t know who her parents or her family are, but I imagine that they helped to instill in her the kindness that she showed me today.  We also live in a world where people are quick to let others know when they have done something that they don’t like.  However, what about when they do something we do like?  Are we just as quick to tell them we liked what they did?  Food for thought–because sometimes even the smallest, random act of kindness can be just as precious as the huge ones that are given simply out of obligation.

I’ve come to really cherish my walks.  I take advantage of the solitude not only to reflect on God’s awesome creation but also to draw closer to Him as I talk to Him during my journeys.  Also along the way, I stop and take pictures of some of the works of His hands.  When I get home, I go through the pictures and try to find ones I would like to share on my blog.  Today, I got a really nice surprise when I looked at one of them.  You’ll see what I’m talking about in the picture below.  When I snapped the shot, I had no idea what was in the midst of the flower.  COOL!!!  🙂

Well, thanks for letting me share my thoughts and pictures with you.  Have a wonderful evening!  🙂

From my heart to yours,
