BAG OF BOOKS 2Today, my sister Lisa, her little daughter Avery, and I went to the “Bag of Books” sale at Maude P. Ragsdale Public Library in Hiram, GA.  Or rather, I should call it the “Bag of Books, Etc.” sale because for $5.00 a bag, you could fill a big, paper or plastic bag (which they provided) with as many as you could of books, tapes, CDs, DVDs, and magazines.

I felt like I was in book heaven!  Here is my stash below.  Of course, since I am a writer and also love to read, I got mostly books. In all, I got 23 books and one DVD!  I actually had more room in my bag for several more items, but they had so much to choose from that I got tired looking through it all.  My sister’s bag was practically full, too.  Her collection included an assortment of nice, hardcover cookbooks.BAG OF BOOKS

We had an awesome time!  We were probably there a little over an hour.  The sale started at 9:00 a.m. and was to end at 4:00 p.m.  About 3:30, we paid for our bags of items because as I told them, I could stay there the rest of the afternoon and all night looking through just the books.  My former supervisor and co-worker Christi Turner is the one who told me about the event, and she was there.  We had not seen or talked with each other (except via Facebook recently) in a long time, and it was so great to see her again!  My niece Avery fell in love with her and even gave her a hug :).  When we got ready to leave, one of their nice staff members even carried one of our bags to the car for us (and believe me, they were heavy, so we really appreciated his help!)

Well, that was part of what turned out to be a wonderful day for me.  I hope you had an awesome day as well!

From my heart to yours!

Maxine 🙂
